About Our Bakery

Hi!  My name is Nayo (pronounced Nigh-yo), and I love sweets so much that I decided to open a bakery.  I was a home baker for 9 1/2 years, so Sweet GG's has been my therapy and love for almost a decade.  I am entirely self taught, which makes sense, because I've also been a full-time teacher for the past 14 years.

Sweet GG's was named in honor of both of my grandmothers - Gertrude, my maternal grandmother, and Geneva, my paternal grandmother.  Both were known for their love of baking and love of family, and I feel special to have taken on those traits.  Everything we offer is baked from scratch - I started off with one delicious pound cake recipe, and built this entire bakery off of delicious cake, very supportive family and friends, and the help of my do-it-all husband.

I feel honored to have established Sweet GG's' physical location in southeast Columbia, and I'm excited to become a community fixture.  Everyone is welcome, and I look forward to meeting you and your sweet tooth very soon.
